The Exhibition Feat of the Year

The category looks for new and insightful ways to execute exhibitions. In the era of changes, someone needs to be the first. We present the award to a company, organisation or person that has, through its actions, cleared the path for others to a successful exhibition experience. The category winner will receive a € 3000 award.

Jimm’s PC-Store Oy

Jimm’s PC-Store is an online store focused on information technology and consumer electronics. Its target audience consists of PC gamers and others interested in information technology. Jimm’s participated in GameXpo 2018 where it organised an open PUBG1000 eSport tournament. The aim was to make Jimm’s better-known and give each visitor a chance to be a real e-athlete for a day.

To support this aim, a fair stand was set up with over 80 powerful PC gaming computers. Players played against each other in a “last man standing” fashion. The success of a large tournament requires co-operation among the organising partners.

“We achieved our goal in getting 1,000 people to participate in the qualifying round, from which 80 players continued on to the final. The event was widely noticed in our target group in social media. When organising an event this big, co-operation is required between the participating partners and the staff of Messukeskus. This co-operative effort is precisely what made the event a success, and customers got both entertainment and marketing information.”

Nordnet

Nordnet is a Nordic bank through which you can invest in shares, funds and securities. Nordnet has been shown to be the best securities dealer in Finland and the number one choice among investors.

Nordnet participated in Alma Talent’s Sijoittaja 2018 event (“Investor 2018”) where it held the Investor of the Year 2018 competition for the first time. The aim was to raise the profile of private investors who, through their own actions, have advanced Finnish investment discussion, ownership and people’s capitalism.

Due to the competition, the event itself received more attention as well. The competition provided us with PR and visibility through news articles. The private investors introduced by Nordnet and the competition have received more media visibility as well as invitations to other events. With the help of ordinary private investors and social media influencers, the event and competition spread around social media.

“Bringing private investors and ordinary people to the stage and competition was unprecedented. Professionals rarely work as close to ordinary investors as would be desirable. The private investors followed on social media are daily present in channels where people are interested in investing, and encourage others through their own example. We were able to reach investors through Nordnet’s multiple communication channels, which helped us invite people to the event and encourage them to vote in the competition.”

Vimmacompany Oy

Vimmacompany Oy represents Finnish design expertise by producing classic, long-lasting and ecological print clothes for the whole family. Vimmacompany produced a charity fashion show for the Child Fair 2018,
showcasing children’s patient clothing.

The aim of the show was to launch the new patient clothing collection. The show’s performers included patients from the paediatric and adolescent oncology unit as well as children from Sykerö, a society for families with children suffering from cancer. There was also a live performance by Joacim Viljamaa who rapped about his story. The clothes were donated to the paediatric and adolescent oncology unit of the Turku University Hospital.

“All the big local newspapers wrote about the event. The show was moving: as child patients performed on the stage, children with cancer in infection isolation were also able to participate in the show through photos taken at the ward.”
